1. Quality of education to face global challenges.
Today education has become book oriented and there is practically very little opportunity for children to have experiential learning. UNESCO says, the purpose of education is to know, to live, to do and to be. But all activities in most of the schools are centred around what the schools want to do with the children and not on what the children want to do with themselves. This leaves the children with very little chance to develop himself and face the globe.
We at IFFS, give him an opportunity to evolve by providing.
  1. Child centered education and enriched learning experiences.
  2. No comparison with anyone else but with oneself, they will compete with themselves. We have examples of Bill Gates, Einstein who were drop outs of the school yet gifted the world with phenomenal innovative contributions and theories.
  3. Every child is a beautiful creation of God and He has gifted every child with something. Some children open the gift packet early while some open it little late, but sure will they open! Our job at IFFS is to nurture them and help them to unwrap this gift when he is fully ready.
2. Rat race for being first in everything, competition in every act of children and pressure to out perform.
Schools and children are competing among themselves today so much that the very purpose of education, as Swami Vivekananda puts it, “the purpose of education is to realize the inner potential that is already present in man” is not happening. Children have dreams and parents have dreams about them and schools have their own agenda. Amidst this each one is competing with some one or something always. Entry into a good professional college and getting a degree and settle down with a good position and money seem to be the ultimate goal of children and parents and towards this material goal, they spoil their health, time and fall prey to unnecessary heart burns.
  1. IFFS will not create global citizens out of text books but by providing exposure to technology and tradition of the world, making them sensitive to the requirements of the Globe. We will teach them to keep their own benchmark and face the world as it comes. This means, we will train him to be independent.
  2. Instill confidence in them to face the world, which will boost the self esteem and self respect.
  3. We will concentrate on the processes of delivery of the school learning, rather than outcome of it.
3. Exam fear and depression.
The world is full of opportunities for any one to become good or bad ,though this terminology of good and bad is rather relative. In the absence of adult supervision, parents are all the time under a state of siege, without knowing what their children will be doing at a particular time. The worry of children falling into a bad company of friends or adults whether at school or outside is always taunting the parent making them uncomfortable at their work places. The basic element of distrust about everything including our own children is there always in the air. We at IFFS,
  1. We teach them to distinguish between good and bad by practicing the same.
  2. To develop natural tendency to question and help him to say ‘Yes’ when he wants to say ‘yes’ or “ no” when he wants to say’no”.
  3. To develop self questioning resulting into self assessment through gradual process. We will not teach values but will imbibe them , leading by example. Compassion and empathy will be enhanced through experiences.
  4. We will instill in them to choose between good and bad through their own convictions, and independent thinking, which will bring out individuality in them.
  5. We assure that the teachers will lead by example, because they are all trained by the Philosophy of the school. Even the support staff, security people –all will be tuned and trained to deal with children upholding this philosophy.
4. Unrealistic expectations from children.
Children withdraw and get into a shell, fear of failure, humiliation, fear of non acceptance, is a serious concern. Inability to achieve changes the child. It harms them physically as well as emotionally, leading to addictions, suicides. To avoid this children will be assessed on the basis of what the child has learnt and not on the basis of what the teacher has taught.
  1. Competency development will be the basis of our activities in class rooms and we will be training him to bring out his potential.
  2. Teachers today are only concerned about covering the portions, but at IFFS, we will discover it together.
  3. We will see that the child attains the desired level in different subjects., at his pace.
  4. Pressures on the child are from various areas like peer, parental , school, society.
5. Content oriented education and not concept oriented education leading to rote learning.
Parents wish to see a miniature of a man in a child when he is yet too small to assimilate the entire knowledge that parents wish to give. Very often parents and Schools do not see the capacity of the children and push them too far to perform for the simple reason that the children will uphold their status in the society. The Peer pressure on children also push them far. Amidst these pressures, the children find it very difficult to perform and they crumble. After all you can give a child only that load what he can hold.

At IFFS, Over expectations from school and parents sometimes, do not recognize child’s true potential. We will make the child so independent that he will be able to climb the ladder at his own pace, we will wait for the fruit to ripe , when it will be sweet.
We will not expect unrealistic goals and untimely expectations form our students. We are not looking at this as business but we take up this challenge to nurture these young minds , help them blossom into beautiful flowers.
